CHILDREN'S CHARITY UNVEILS NEW NAME AND WEBSITE: INTRODUCING THE NEW ENGLAND TECHNOLOGY FOUNDATION
New England Technology Foundation Better Represents Organization's Mission; www.netechfoundation.org New Public Face
Boston, MA - September 6, 2005 - The New England Hi-Tech Charity Foundation today announced it has changed its name to the New England Technology Foundation (NETF). The new name reflects the broadening of the organization's reach to include all technology companies, including biotechnology and other growing markets in the New England region.
In a related announcement, the NETF today also unveiled a new website, www.netechfoundation.org. The new site dramatically improves the public face of the NETF, giving technology companies, charities and all the organization's audiences a central communications resource.
"The NETF is growing, both in our base of company supporters and in the number of charities we support," said Carolyn Macedo, president of the NETF. "Our new name and web site position us well to continue our work in supporting the children of New England."
About the New England Technology Foundation The New England Technology Foundation (NETF) is a non-profit organization founded in 1992. Its mission is to bring the region's technology community together to raise funds for social, medical, and educational organizations that benefit the children of New England. Since its inception, the NETF has donated over one million dollars to charitable organizations. The NETF is an all-volunteer organization donating to numerous recipients, many of whom have stayed afloat due the NETF contributions. The NETF hosts an annual Technology Bash and golf tournament each year. Technology companies from throughout New England are invited to support and participate in the events as corporate sponsors, through the purchase of tables or foursomes, and by contributing to the silent auction held at the gala. Funds raised from the events are then awarded to a selected group of non-profit organizations supporting the needs of children.
