NE Tech Foundation Has Donated Over $1.4 Million to Grassroots Children’s Organizations
Boston, MA – October 15, 2008 — The New England Technology Foundation (NE Technology Foundation) has awarded twenty grants to deserving children’s charities throughout New England. The 2008 grants total $95,000. All recipient charities are grassroots organizations with limited staff and overhead; as such the awards will go a long way towards directly helping kids better meet their educational, medical and social needs.
“In a tough economic climate we’re pleased that the NE Technology Foundation and our supporters were able to raise almost $100,000 for grassroots children’s charities,” said Kevin Wiant, president of the NE Technology Foundation. “The NE Technology Foundation has always focused on helping smaller, grassroots organizations—the kind of charities that really need help in these challenging times. With these funds, kids will get safe places to go after school, more books to read, new roles models to emulate and tons of other support.”

About the New England Technology Foundation The New England Technology Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 1992. Its mission is to bring the region's technology community together to raise funds for social, medical, and educational organizations that benefit the children of New England. Since its inception, the NE Technology Foundation has donated over $1.4 million dollars to over sixty charitable organizations. The NE Technology Foundation is an all-volunteer organization. The NE Technology Foundation hosts an annual fundraising event in the fall and golf tournament in the spring. Companies in the technology community throughout New England are invited to support and participate in the events as corporate sponsors. Funds raised from the events are then awarded to a selected group of non-profit organizations supporting the needs of children.
