New England Charity Foundation Announces 2005 Gala Benefiting Children's Charities
NEHTCF Unveils "Lifetime Achievement Award" Recognizing Sustained Excellence in Helping the Children of New England
Boston, MA - October 27, 2004 - The New England Hi-Tech Charity Foundation (NEHTCF) today announced that its 11th annual black-tie gala will be held on Saturday, November 6th at the Westin Copley Place in Boston. At the event, the Foundation will present its first "Lifetime Achievement Award" to a charity that has consistently made a difference in the lives of New England's children.
"The NEHTCF exists for one reason-to provide funds to small, grass roots charities that help the children of New England," said Heather Downs, president of NEHTCF. "The gala is our signature event and top fundraiser. It is only appropriate that we mark the occasion by recognizing one of the many charities that do outstanding work supporting the educational, social and medical needs of New England's children."

About the New England Hi-Tech Charity Foundation
The New England Hi-Tech Charity Foundation (NEHTCF) is a non-profit organization founded in 1992 by a small group of individuals from New England's technology industry. Its mission is to bring the region's high technology community together to raise funds for social, medical, and educational organizations that benefit the children of New England. Since its inception, NEHTCF has donated over one million dollars to charitable organizations including Why Me, Matthew 25, Pass It On, The Children's Literacy Foundation. The Foundation is an all-volunteer organization donating to many worthy recipients, many of whom have stayed afloat due the NEHTCF contributions.
The Foundation hosts an annual black tie event and golf tournament each year. Technology companies from throughout the region are invited to support and participate in the events as corporate sponsors, through the purchase of tables or foursomes, and by contributing to the silent auction held at the gala. Funds raised from the events are then awarded to a selected group of non-profit organizations supporting the needs of children.
