Benefit Tourney for Children's Charities to be Held June 6 at the Charles River Country Club
Boston, MA - May 23, 2005 - The New England Hi-Tech Charity Foundation (NEHTCF) today announced that its annual golf tournament will be played on Monday, June 6 at the Charles River Country Club in Newton, MA. Over twenty sponsors will be teeing it up to raise funds for children's charities throughout New England. A highlight of the event will be the presentation of a check to a recipient of a 2005 NEHTCF grant, representative of the twenty plus charities awarded monies this year.
"Our golf tournament accomplishes many things," said Carolyn Macedo, president of NEHTCF. "Sponsors network as the technology community comes together. Everyone has a good time playing a great golf course. Most importantly, the children of New England benefit from the thousands of dollars raised through this and our other big event, the annual Technology Ball."
Charles River Country Club is a classic Donald Ross design widely considered one of the premier golf courses in New England. The tournament includes lunch and dinner, group pictures, practice putting and driving range, greens fees, gift bag, prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams, men's and women's prizes for longest drive and closest to the pin, hole in one prizes on par 3's and raffle drawing prizes.

About the New England Hi-Tech Charity Foundation The New England Hi-Tech Charity Foundation (NEHTCF) is a non-profit organization founded in 1992 by a small group of individuals from New England's technology industry. Its mission is to bring the region's high technology community together to raise funds for social, medical, and educational organizations that benefit the children of New England. Since its inception, NEHTCF has donated over one million dollars to charitable organizations including Why Me, Matthew 25, Pass It On, The Children's Literacy Foundation. The Foundation is an all-volunteer organization donating to many worthy recipients, many of whom have stayed afloat due the NEHTCF contributions. The Foundation hosts an annual black tie event and golf tournament each year. Technology companies from throughout the region are invited to support and participate in the events as corporate sponsors, through the purchase of tables or foursomes, and by contributing to the silent auction held at the gala. Funds raised from the events are then awarded to a selected group of non-profit organizations supporting the needs of children.
