GuinNESS WORLD RecORD ATTEMPT FOR MOST KITES FLOWN SIMULTANEOUSLY TO BE HELD AT pATRIOT PLACE

New England Children’s Foundation Announces Family-Friendly Fundraiser to Benefit Local Grassroots Youth Charities

Boston, MA – August  xx, 2009 — The New England Children’s Foundation (NE Children’s Foundation), bringing the technology community together to raise funds for grassroots charities benefiting the children of New England, today announced an officially-sanctioned attempt at breaking the Guinness world record for most kites flown simultaneously. The goal of the fundraising event is to simultaneously fly 1,000 kites, to break the current Guinness World Record of 967, established in Germany during August 2008.

The family-friendly event will be held on October 11, 2009 and hosted by Patriot Place. Patriot Place is an ideal venue for the attempt, with plenty of space, parking, dining options and most importantly, wind. Activities and music will be held throughout the day. Tween sensation Michael and Marisa is headlining, setting an unbeat, energetic tone for the day’s record attempt.

“Patriot Place is thrilled to be working with the New England Children’s Foundation on both the Guinness World Record attempt and raising needed money for children’s charities in New England,” said Brian Earley, General Manager of Patriot Place. “Small, grassroots charities like the ones the New England Children’s Foundation support desperately need help, especially in these tough economic times. Proceeds from the ‘Fly a Kite for Kids’ event will go directly to these deserving organizations, making a positive difference in many children’s lives.”

Sponsorship opportunities are available at a number of levels and a central part of making the Guinness World Record attempt a success. “Fly a Kite for Kids” will be a great family and corporate outing for all ages, allowing co-workers, families and friends to join together for an afternoon of fun.
